School screenings

Spend educational hours at the cinema!

Pedagogically valuable films regularly make it into our programme, which can be integrated excellently into the school curriculum or can offer valuable education even without this framework. In the following list you will find current and upcoming films that are particularly suitable for student screenings. Of course, it is possible for all film titles to have a student screening at special conditions.

School screenings are to be understood as an educational event, i.e. the performances are usually played without an intermission and without consumption.

By Cyril Dion.

16-year-old Bella and Vipulan are part of a generation convinced its very future is in danger. Between climate change and the 6th mass extinction of wildlife, their world could well be inhabitable 50 years from now. They have sounded the alarm over and over, but nothing has really changed. So they’ve decided to tackle the root of the problem: our relationship with the living world. Over the course of an extraordinary journey, they come to realize just how deeply humans are tied to all other living species. And that by saving them… we’re also saving ourselves. Humans thought they could distance themselves from nature, but humans are part and parcel of nature. For man is, after all, an Animal.

By Panah Panahi, with Hassan Madjooni, Pantea Panahiha, Rayan Sarlak, Amin Simiar.

Driving across endless miles of rugged landscape, a family navigates a long road trip alongside a range of conflicting emotions. Dad’s got a broken leg and a mood to match whilst Mum fusses over her two children and their pet dog. And when he's not drawing on the car windows, their energetic youngest son couldn’t be louder as he sings along to the car radio whilst his elder brother tries to concentrate on the road ahead. As the journey twists and turns and their destination draws ever closer, the chaotic claustrophobia in the car grows as does the love and affection they have for each other. Accompanied by a brilliant soundtrack, Panah Panahi’s thrilling debut feature is a treasure; tender, quirky, and laugh-out-loud funny. Get ready to take an unmissable journey along the dusty road of life.

Release date: 25 August 2022

By André Schäfer, with Martin Suter.
