The first Mario adventure, THE SUPER MARIO BROS. FILM was released in theaters in 2023, grossing more than $1.3 billion worldwide and thrilling more than 5 million moviegoers in Germany. THE SUPER MARIO BROS. FILM and THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY FILM were produced by Chris Meledandri (Illumination) and Shigeru Miyamoto (Nintendo). Universal Pictures and Nintendo are co-producers. Universal Pictures is handling worldwide distribution. THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE was once again directed by filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. Matthew Fogel is once again responsible for the screenplay. Brian Tyler also composed the film score for the sequel.
