ROOFMAN is based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester. The eccentric serial robber held up more than 60 branches of a fast food chain. After he was caught and sentenced to 45 years in prison, he escaped from jail and hid for months in a Toys 'R Us store in North Carolina. There he played a bizarre game of hide-and-seek, subsisting on baby food and keeping fit by riding a child's bicycle around the store. He was eventually caught after allegedly leaving his fingerprints on a Catch Me If You Can DVD. he movie focuses on this wild escape story.
